Ten people have been arrested with a large number of drugs after the search of three houses in Malé City.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, two 26-year-old men, a 27-year-old man, a 29-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. And they said that they were all locals.
Following the information about a large scale drug trade, Police said that they made the arrests on Monday night.
Police entered the three houses with a court order, arrested them and searched the residences to find a large cellophane bag which contains what is believed to be drugs and 20 rubber packets and two bullets which also believed to contain drugs. Police said that they found tools to pack the drugs in those houses.
The Drug Enforcement Department of the Maldives Police Service is investigating the case further.
