Police have captured the man who fled Kashidhoo Police Station after he was arrested and taken there on Friday in a case involving narcotics.
A police media official who spoke to Sun Online said that the 32 year-old man was re-arrested under court order while hiding inside a private residence in the island at around 10:35 am.
The man was arrested on Friday after police were tipped off about a shipment of narcotics being brought to the island on a boat. The man was arrested red-handed just as he took ownership of the package that arrived by boat.
The man had thrown the package into the water when he saw the police. But police had dived in and taken the package out of the water in his presence to discover 40 rubber packets suspected of containing narcotics.
He had escaped sometime Saturday night.
