Man under arrest in Kaashidhoo Police Station has escaped

A man under arrest in Kaashidhoo Police Station in a drug case has escaped.

Police Media Official told Sun Media tonight that the 32-year-old man escaped sometime last night.

The Official said that following the information about a vessel traveling to Kaashidhoo from Malé carrying drugs, Police found out that the man accepted an item when the vessel stopped at Kaashidhoo.

And in the attempt to arrest him, the man threw 40 rubber packets which is believed to be drugs, to the sea.
