Minister Saeed: The purpose of the Government

Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed has said that one of the most important purposes of the Government’s economic policies is to convert the skills of the Maldivian people into money.

Speaking at a ceremony at Hotel Jen to launch Maldives Photography Association’s (MPA), Photographer of the Year Award, Minister Saeed said that the Government priorities include the development of photography business. And so noted that the Government’s decision not to approve work VISA for foreign photographers.

“We could proudly say that the business of photography is now for you Maldivians.” Minister Saeed said addressing to the large number of photographers in the country.

The Minister said that President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has been connecting the youth to economic projects.

At the ceremony, the official website of the MPA was also launched.

The website was launched by the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Abdulla Ziyad. The website facilitates photographers to upload their information and bridge the photographers and the customers according to MPA.

The decision to host sessions to share the experience of photographers in the name of “Pho-talk.” MPA says that the purpose of these sessions is to support and empower photographers.
