UN mediation expert meets Gayoom

The mediation expert sent by United Nations, Pierre-Yves Monette, who is in Maldives to assist with the current political situation, has met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

A statement released today by the former president’s office states that during the meeting, discussions were held regarding the National Commission of Inquiry and the ongoing all-party-talks. Monette also obtained Gayoom’s advice on these issues.
