Four houses flooded in Gadhdhoo after sea swells

Four houses have been flooded in G. Dh. Gaddhoo following sea swells in the island.

Vice President of the Gaddhoo Island Council, Mohamed Sujaau told Sun Media tonight that the sea swells started around 2:30 p.m. today flooding four houses 150 meters inland. Although no major damages have been reported.

“There aren’t any major damages, but the plants in the houses would be affected.” Sujaau said.

He said that there isn’t any swelling at the moment but it is expected at high tide night around 2 a.m.

The National Meteorological Center says that rains are expected across the country around 8 a.m. tomorrow with heavy showers in the central atolls. Winds are expected to rise up to 15 miles an hour in the southern atolls while winds up to 18 miles an hour are expected elsewhere in the country with speeds up to 40 miles an hour during showers.
