Dr. Shaheem: Not thinking about returning to politics

Former Islamic Minister and the Current Vice Chancellor of the Islamic University, Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that he has no plans to return to politics.

Speaking at the launching ceremony of a Quran CD recited by Dr. Shaheem at Hotel Jen, he said that in reality he has no plans whatsoever to return to politics.

“I started the Quran recording sincerely to spread the knowledge of the highest book of Islam, the holy Quran. This is a big project that I began. There is no ulterior motive in this. Sometimes some people ask if Shaheem is doing this to return to the political stage. It’s not like that at all.” Dr. Shaheem said.

Dr. Shaheem said that his purpose is to move forward with a special project with the holy Quran. He said that his target is to bring the Quran to the young generation through modern technology.

He said that he would be establishing a special website about the holy Quran.

“All my advice is that all students and parents try to teach Quran to the students. So that with God’s will they would take to the right path towards the right things.” Dr. Shaheem said.

Dr. Shaheem said that former Presidents of the country also requested that he record a Quran recital. And so he couldn’t do it until now because of his position did not allow free time for personal projects.
