The parliament has approved Dr Ali Shameem as the president and Jameela Ali as the vice president of Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The nominations were submitted to parliament by Vilimalé MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik.
Both individuals were approved unanimously, with 61 votes in favour.
Dr Shameem, a former member of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), was appointed to CSC on Monday.
Jameela was appointed to CSC by former President Dr Mohamed Waheed’s government.
Article 17 of the CSC Act states that a president and vice president shall be appointed to the commission by the president, as advised by the parliament.
