Maldives Investment Forum postponed

The Second Maldives Investment Forum (MIF), scheduled for 15 September 2015 in Beijing, has been postponed following the recent tragedy in Tianjin.

Ministry of Economic Development says the forum will now be held in late October.

President Abdulla Yameen, senior officials of the government of China, and representatives of prominent companies in China will participate in the event.

The purpose of the forum is to provide information on investment opportunities in the Maldives. Areas of focus in the Second MIF include banking and finance, real estate, and tourism.

The forum is expected to have roughly 800 participants, including the 100 largest companies in China.

“Maldives Investment Magazine” will be launched at the forum.
