President Yameen sends message of sympathy to Indonesian President

President Abdulla Yameen has sent a message of sympathy to President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, following the crash of the Trigana Air Asia flight.

The President’s Office said that President Yameen’s message read as follows:

“I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic crash of the Trigana Air flight, resulting in the loss of many innocent lives.

“At this time of national tragedy and grief, I wish to extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives and on my own behalf, our profound sympathy to you, the Government and the people of Indonesia, and, in particular, to those who were directly affected by the tragedy.

“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
