President’s Office has said that if a letter sent to President is also shared with the media, the President will not be responding to that letter.
The President’s Office said that while a letter from President Maumoon about seeking the people’s opinion before ratifying the amendment on foreign ownership of land for investments has been received by the media.
Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali told Sun Media today that as a general rule, if a letter sent to the President is shared with the media before sending it in or before the President’s reply, the President will not be responding to that letter.
“We are not mentioning a specific letter. I just mentioned how the President has been proceeding and how he will proceed in the future.” Spokesperson Muaz said.
When asked if the President would respond to the letter from President Maumoon, the Spokesperson said that the President would decide that.
