Light decorations in Mal

Malé has been lit up by lights exhibiting creative designs, as part of the 50th Independence Day celebrations.

This follows the announcement of a light decorations competition with a MVR 50,000 prize, by the 50th Independence Day Committee established by the government to organise Independence Day celebrations.

Minister of State for Economic Development Abdulla Mohamed told Sun Online that the winner will be chosen soon, and in addition to the MVR 50,000 for first place, MVR 25,000 and MVR 15,000 will be given to second and third place winners, respectively.

Independence Day will be celebrated on 26 July.
