Four suspects arrested over Shiyar murder

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Hussain Shiyar, 19, Atheena, Seenu Maradhoo.

Police said that two of the suspects are aged 20, while the other two are aged 22 and 24.

All four suspects are men and were arrested with court orders.

One of the 20-year-olds and the 24-year-old were arrested on Monday, and have been given 15 days of remand in police custody for the investigation, by the Hithadhoo Magistrate Court.

The two remaining suspects were arrested yesterday.

Police said that all four suspects have criminal record.

Shiyad died while receiving treatment at Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, after being stabbed in an assault which took place in front of his house on 15 May 2015.

The murder investigation is still ongoing by a Police Serious and Organised Crime Department team in Addu City.
