Agreements reached regarding Bridge Project

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has announced that agreements have been reached with the government of China regarding the Malé-Hulhulé Bridge Project.

A Chinese team, made up of a government representative, an Exim Bank representative, and bridge design team members, arrived in the Maldives on Monday.

A senior official of Housing Ministry told Sun Online that several agreements will be signed tomorrow, which will include details related to the roles of the two governments, implementation, and financing of the project.

Housing Ministry said earlier that the construction of the bridge is expected to begin before the end of the year.
