PPM has won six Council chairs without an election

PPM has won six Council chairs without holding an election.

The by-election of those six councils was to be held on 1 July as decided on 10 June.

The Elections Commission said that all the candidates for the six council chairs were all PPM candidates.

The official results of the by-elections at H.A. Muraidhoo Council, Sh. Kanditheem Council, V. Felidhoo Council, Th. Madifushi Council and Meemu Atoll Council were issued by the Elections Commission today.

Muraidhoo Council by-election was won by Ahmed Asif.

While the Kanditheem Council by-election was won by Adam Ali, Maafushi by-elections was won by Mohamed Musthafa.

Felidhoo by-election was won by Ahmed Nadheem. Madifushi Council by-election was won by Abdulla Afsal.

Meemu Atoll Council’s chair for Dhiggaru constituency was won by Hassan Amjad.
