The family of the 19-year-old man injured in the traffic collision last night on Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the Maaziya Stadium has said that he is in serious condition.
He was initially taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). But he was moved to ADK Hospital to consult a neurologist about his injuries to the head under doctor’s advisement.
“He was moved to ADK because there’s no neurologist at IGMH.” The family said.
The family said that the 19-year-old had his facial bones completely broken according to the doctor.
Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal said that the young man had a successful head surgery today. But he is still in serious condition, Affaal said.
The family said that when they requested permission to take the 19-year-old abroad for treatment, the doctor denied it after reviewing his condition.
“The doctor also advised not to leave without the doctor’s permission. And said that two people who were taken without permission before had died. So we’re waiting without going abroad.” The family said.
In the traffic collision last night, a 22-year-old man was also injured with the 19-year-old.
Media Official of IGMH, Zeenath Ali Habeeb told Sun Media that the 22-year-old admitted at that hospital is currently in good condition.
A witness to the collision told Sun Media that out of the three motorcycles that collided last night, one of the drivers fled the scene.
