Two people have been injured in a serious accident in Hithadhoo, Addu City, with one of them ending up in the ICU at Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.
The police spokesperson told Sun Online that the accident took place at around 10:00 a.m. today near City Central on Bodu Magu.
A speeding motorcycle lost control and crashed into barricades set up by police in the area, the police spokesperson said.
Manager of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital Khadheeja Hafsa told Sun Online that the man in ICU had suffered a head injury, and is in serious condition.
She said that arrangements are under way to transport him to Malé.
The other victim escaped with minor abrasions, Hafsa said.
