STELCO: Not sure when power can be fully restored in Hulhumal

State Electric Company (STELCO) has said that repair work is ongoing, and exactly how long it will take to fully restore power in Hulhumalé is unknown.

Assistant Director of STELCO Abdulla Nazir told Sun Online that the power cuts started after the main generator failed, and efforts are ongoing to repair the generator and restore power as soon as possible.

He said that if the repair process is prolonged, a schedule will be set up to provide electricity using the remaining generators.

Power cuts have been experienced in Hulhumalé, which has a population of over 30,000 people, for three days.
