Sun Siyam Resorts to open second resort in Sri Lanka

Sun Siyam Resorts has announced plans to open a second resort in Sri Lanka.

Speaking at the Hospitality Investment Conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Hotels and Resorts, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed said that Maldivians should make good use of the opportunities arising from customers from all over the world visiting Maldives, by developing resorts which represent Maldives in other countries.

Highlighting the unique style of hospitality practised by Maldivians, Siyam said that Maldivian hospitality can gain popularity anywhere in the world, and achieve the same status as the world’s hospitality front-runners of today such as Thailand, India, and Switzerland.

Sun Siyam Resorts' new hotel in Sri Lanka will, for the first time, include water bungalows. Siyam said that the cultures of both Maldives and Sri Lanka will be portrayed in the resort design.

Sun Siyam Resorts operates three resorts in Maldives. Its first resort in Sri Lanka, Sun Aqua Pasikudah Resort, was opened in March 2015.
