Three people have been arrested in a protest by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Wednesday night, calling for the release of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
The police spokesperson said that the protesters were arrested for obstruction and disobeying police instructions.
MDP has been holding protests calling for Nasheed’s release almost every night. Nasheed has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for terrorism.
Addu Meedho MP Rozaina Adam, MDP Vice Chairperson Ali Niyaz, and Thasmeen Ali participated in last night’s protest.
