Government rejects request to include Nasheed in discussions

A request by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to include former President Mohamed Nasheed in the discussions between the government and opposition parties, has been rejected by the government.

This was announced by President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali, who tweeted this morning that the list of people appointed by MDP for the discussions with the government included a person who was executing a prison sentence, and that it was not possible for the government to grant this request.
