Man arrested in airport for attack on police officer

Police have located and arrested a suspect at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA), in relation to the assault on a police officer during the protest on 1 May.

Police said that the 51-year-old suspect was arrested under a court order at around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, as he arrived at INIA on an international flight.

A total of 14 people have been arrested so far on suspicion of the assault on the police officer.

Efforts are ongoing to identify and locate three more suspects, said police.
