Hulhumale’ Crime Prevention Committee has requested Police Commissioner Abdullah Riyaz to facilitate the establishment of a Police post at Hulhumale’ Ferry Terminal.
The Police said that this request, and also a request to increase the number of Police officers, was made from the Commissioner when he visited Hulhumale’ yesterday afternoon. They discussed ways to reduce crime, and other concerns raised by the Committee.
The Commissioner met with the Police of Hulhumale’ Police Station and assured that efforts will be made to solve the difficulties faced by them. He asked them to refrain from discrimination in their work, work proactively and with the society, and to conduct various crime prevention programs with focus on different age groups.
Commissioner Riyaz also met with the senior officials of Hulhumale’ Development Corporation. They discussed ways to increase Police presence with the increasing population in Hulhumale’, and ways in which they can cooperate to reduce crime. Riyaz also inquired about the progress of the 300 flats in Hulhumale’ planned for Police.
