Contracts signed for renovation of hospitals, health centres

Ministry of Health has signed contracts worth MVR 2.1 million with three companies for the renovation of Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili Health Centre, and Seenu Maradhoo Health Centre.

The contracts were signed at a ceremony at Health Ministry today, by Minister of Health Ahmed Zuhoor and senior officials representing the three companies.

According to the agreements, the MVR 570,500 renovation project in Kulhudhuffushi should be completed within in three months, the MVR 257,580 project in Maamigili should be completed within 23 days, and the MVR 1,236,363 project in Maradhoo should be completed within 140 days.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Zuhoor said that health centres in many islands are in need of renovation and repair, and these projects will be prioritised by the government.

Today’s ceremony was also attended by Members of Parliament representing the respective constituencies.
