Ten members from governing party PPM’s parliamentary group has been selected to be part of PPM’s council.
The ten members were selected today at the party’s PG group meeting at Muliaage.
The leader of PPM Parliamentary group and the MP for Vilimale’ constituents, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik told Sun Media tonight that the PPM regulation states that members of the parliamentary group have to be on the party’s council.
“So what happens is that the council contains previous members of the parliament. For this term, the members elected for the 18th congress. So we requested the party to have fresh members on the council. That’s how the vote was took.” Nihan said.
Nihan said that the president of the parliamentary group is an “automatic” member of the council.
The members of the parliamentary group on PPM’s council are, the MP for the Mahibadhoo constituents, Ahmed Thoriq, MP for the Hulhudhoo constituents, Ahemd Shahid, MP for the Naifaru constituents, Ahmed Shiyam, MP for the Guradhoo constituents, Ibrahim Riyaz, MP for the Dhaandhoo constituents, Ahmed Asad, MP for the Nilandhoo constituents, Abdulla Khaleel, MP for the Baarah constituents, Ibrahim Shujaau, MP for the Kelaa constituents, Ali Arif, MP for the Madduvari constituents, Mohamed Ameeth and the MP for the Faresmaathoda, Hussain Mohamed.
