Over 700 patients consult super-specialists

Super-specialists are on the road in four regions across Maldives, under a new program inaugurated by President Abdulla Yameen five days ago.

The specialists have, so far, treated 762 patients and advised three patients to seek further treatment abroad.

According to a statement issued by Aasandha, 11 super-specialists covering nine areas have conducted 303 consultations in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi, 181 in Laamu Gan, 166 in Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo, and 91 at Hulhumalé Hospital.

Aasandha said that one of the major challenges faced by this program is the lack of medicines in the pharmacies in the islands, but this problem will be solved in collaboration with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA).
