The former Defence Minister, Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim who has been sentenced to 11 years has taken his case to an appeal.
Nazim’s lawyers confirmed their appeal to the Criminal Court to Sun Media.
Nazim’s lawyer, Maumoon Hameed said that although the Criminal Court has released the report of the case, the points for appeal based on that report was not prepared.
The appeal period for Nazim’s case ends at 2 p.m. today.
Nazim’s lawyers have raised concerns about the delay of the trail report from the Criminal Court.
Colonel-retired Nazim was sentenced to 11 years in prison for import and possession of a firearm.
