Fire at STELCO fuel unloading station

A fire occurred at the fuel unloading pump station of the State Electric Company (STELCO) today.

Infromation Officer of the MNDF, Major Adnaan Mohamed told Sun Media tonight that a fire was started when a light got an electrical short at the STELCO fuel unloading pump station.

A witness to told Sun Media that a group of people in the area took a fire extinguisher from the petrol shed of the Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) nearby and put out the fire quickly.

No one was injured in the fire and no damage was caused to fuel unloading station.
