Maldives to participate in travel fair set to begin in Moscow tomorrow

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has said that Maldives will participate the Moscow International Travel and Tourism (MITT) Exhibition, scheduled to begin tomorrow.

The largest tourism faire in Russia will be held from 18 to 21 March with participation from 2056 representative from 203 countries.

An official of MMPRC presently in Russia said that the Maldives stand for the exhibition is almost complete.

The MITT Exhibition in 2014 had 37,436 visitors.

Maldives has fourth highest tourist arrivals from Russia. The number of Russian tourists that visited Maldives in 2014 was 66,308 – a 13.3 percent increase compared to 2013.

MMPRC has said that tourist arrivals from Russia has seen a decline following the downturn in the Russian economy.
