Criminal Court bars three reporters

Criminal Court has decided not to allow CNM’s Misbah Abbas, TVM’s Mohamed Afzal, and Avas’ Muizzu Ibrahim entry to the court during trials.

One of the barred reporters told Sun Online that he was denied entry when he approached court’s registration desk today.

“They said that the purpose was to give us time to think about our actions, and that we had disrespected the court,” he said.

Criminal Court was unavailable for a comment at the time of publication.

A group of journalists have filed a case to police, after they were not allowed to leave the court building on Friday night, when the verdict was issued against former President Nasheed.

Police have said that the case should be reported to Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
