Car catches fire on Hithadhoo Link Road

A car has been completely destroyed after it caught fire while on Link Road, Hithadhoo, Addu City.

The police spokesperson said that the incident took place at around 4:30 p.m. and the car was going towards the Convention Centre.

Police had not received any details, the spokesperson told Sun Online.

The fire was controlled moments later by Addu Fire and Rescue Service.

Sources have told Sun Online that the BMW belonged to Mohamed Hassan, owner of Aagalaa Mart in Hithadhoo.

The driver escaped unharmed.

The incident is under police investigation.
