Maldives has achieved second place on the list of the most popular diving destinations

Maldives has achieved second place DIVER Magazine’s most popular diving destination of the year award.

The first place was won by Egypt.

The awards were given at London’s DIVER Magazine’s 17th annual awards ceremony on February 14. The event is famous as the Oscars of the diving world.

DIVER Magazine is one of the most popular magazines in Britain.

The awards are based on viewer polls on their website.

The press release by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation says. “A large number of British tourists visit Maldives for diving inspired by the underwater beauty of Maldives.”

In 2014, 88,704 tourist arrivals were recorded from the UK.
