MIB introduces internet banking

Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has introduced internet banking service “F’isa Net”.

The service was inaugurated at a ceremony at Nasandura Palace Hotel, by Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) Governor Dr Azeema Adam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Azeema said that F’isa Net is an important service for customers and MIB has achieved great progress over a short period of time.

Manager of MIB Harith Haroon said that the service is customer-friendly, and customers do not have to visit the bank’s premises to register, rather, they can do it online.

The service includes two packages – Basic Package and Premium Package.

All existing customers will receive the Basic Package, which includes services such as checking account balance, transferring funds between one’s own accounts, and requesting for cheque books.

Head of Technology of MIB Ahmed Riza said that F’isa Net includes two-step verification as an added security feature, and a F’isa Net application is available for download on Google Play and Apple Store.

Harith Haroon said that the online banking service will be expanded and services such as paying bills and Zakat will be introduced before the end of the year.

MIB, the only Islamic bank in the Maldives, was established on 7 March 2011.
