A woman has been arrested under suspicion of being involved in the trade of stolen gold and golden necklaces. Two men have also been arrested for snatching a golden chain worn by a four-year-old child.
The woman is Waheedha Saleem, 44, of Ashraf Manzil, S. Hithadhoo.
The men are Ahmed Nasru, 33, of Fairy, Gn. Fuvahmulah; and Mohamed Haleem Rushdy, 42, of Baahaad, Dhiguvaandu, Fuvahmulah.
Ahmed Nasru and Mohamed Haleem Rushdy were arrested last Tuesday afternoon for snatching the golden necklace, who after questioning revealed that they sold it to Waheedha Saleem for Rf300.
Waheeda Saleem confessed to the crime, and Police found several golden items hidden in a cement bucket in her kitchen.
Several of the necklaces found at Waheeda Saleem’s home had been reported stolen.
Waheeda Saleem, Ahmed Nasru and Mohamed Haleem Rushdy all have record of being involved in drugs. Ahmed Nasru also has a record of being involved in snatching.
