Maalhos School hosts a prayer calling contest

A prayer calling competition was hosted between the houses of the Maalhos School to inspire interest to the call of prayer.

The Principal of Maalhos School, Abbas Hussain spoke to Sun Media today saying that it was the first competition of the school to be held in the school. He said that 30 students out of the three houses in the school participated in Thursday’s competition.

“If an Imam in an island gets sick or for any other reason cannot come to the mosque, there’s no one to call for prayer. The purpose of our competition was to inspire interest in our students and ready them for such occasions.” The principal Abbas said.

The Principal said that judges of the completion were the Imam of the island and a teacher of the school. And the results of the contestants will be announced at a later date.
