Former President Mohamed Nasheed’s aunt, Zuhaira Umar, has met with businessman Mohamed Moosa (Champa).
The meeting took place at the house adjacent to DhiTV building, where Mohamed Moosa normally holds meetings with politicians.
Zuhaira is Nasheed’s father’s sister, and also the mother of Galolhu-North MP Eva Abdulla.
The court has ordered police to keep Nasheed in custody until the conclusion of his trial, regarding the arrest of Chief Judge of Criminal Court Abdulla Mohamed in 2012.
Mohamed Moosa also met with Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim and Deputy Leader of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Ahmed Adeeb last night.
The amendment to the Constitution submitted to parliament in December 2014, to disallow people above the age of 65 from running for presidency, was withdrawn this morning. Sun Online understands from sources that this followed a request made by Gasim Ibrahim during last night’s meeting.
