Police stops a MVR 4 million robbery

Police has stopped a robber attempting to steal MVR 4 million after attacking a person with a sharp object in Hulhumale’.

A group of people tried to rob the money taken from the bank for a private company, says police, near the MNDF block on Reethigas Magu in Hulhumale’.

Police said the money and the person attacked were saved due to efforts of the Hulhumale’ Police in the area. And the search from the group of robbers who fled the scene is ongoing.

The man injured in the attack is receiving treatment in the Hulhumale’ hospital.

The investigation is underway in by Serious and Organized Crime department in collaboration with the Hulhumale’ Police.

Police advices to take the necessary security precautions when transporting large quantities of money.
