The Prosecutor General’s Office has withdrawn the charge against the wife of former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim, Afaaf Abdul Majeed, of possession of firearms.
Lawyer of state, in the hearing held on Wednesday said that it had been decided previously to charge against Nazim and his wife and the case was submitted to the court in that intention.
However, it has been decided not to charge against Nazim’s wife after police investigation had recently identified from the information in the pen drive found with the pistol and the three bullets from a bag in a cupboard kept inside the bedroom of Nazim, that Nazim, under his leadership, had planned for individual and joint tasks funded by Villaa to attack leaders of the government.
Charge has been pressed with reference to Article 2 (b) and under Article 13 (a) of the Import Prohibition Act.
