Police are investigating threats against the members of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), made by a group that entered the HRCM office.
The Police Media Official spoke to Sun Online today, and said that the case is being investigated but it has not been reported to the police.
“The investigation started when the news was reported by the media,” said the official.
A group of people went to the building and threatened the staff, less than 24 hours after the HRCM issued a press release condemning the police procedure in the arrest of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
Sources say the culprits have threatened the staff not to be seen on the streets.
A member of HRCM said to Sun Online today that they had received threats on many occasions before, by groups that were dissatisfied with their decisions.
