Adeeb: Did not even discuss to bar Gasim from contesting presidential election

Tourism Minister and the Deputy Leader of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Ahmed Adeeb has said that it had not even been discussed in PPM council to propose an amendment to the constitution, to fix an upper age-limit of 65 years for contesting presidential election.

Speaking in “Raajje Miyadhu” program of Television Maldives (TVM), Adeeb on Monday night said that it cannot be a reason for creating unrest in Male’.

Adeeb had previously stated in “DhiTV Khabarutherein”; a program telecasted by DhiTV, that PPM would discuss in Parliament meeting regarding that amendment. He noted that he was expecting the discussions to be held after inauguration of Parliament New Year.
