PPM to take disciplinary action against Mahloof

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has decided to take disciplinary action against its member, Galolhu-South MP Ahmed Mahloof, after he criticised the party and the government.

PPM Spokesperson Ali Arif told Sun Online that he was saddened by Mahloof’s comments, and that the party has decided to take action against him following this violation of its basic regulation.

Arif also denied Mahloof’s allegation that founder of PPM, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, no longer has a say in the decisions made by the party.

Sources have told Sun Online that Mahloof has been informed of the party’s decision to take disciplinary action against him, and has been asked to attend a meeting tomorrow where he will be given the opportunity to present his defence.
