Dhiraagu Chairman Rilwan Shareef dismissed

Chairman of the Board of Directors at Dhiraagu, Rilwan Shareef has been dismissed.

Talking to Sun today, Rilwan, who also serves as Managing Director of Villa Air, said that he was notified that he was being let go via phone last night by a member of the Privatization Board.

He also said the basis of his dismissal is unknown as of yet but is hoping to receive the letter of discharge sometime today.

“I was called by a member of the privatization board last night, who informed me I was dismissed. But I was not told why,” Rilwan said.

Spokesperson for the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz said Rilwan was dismissed from his post to appoint another person to his position.

Muaz also said that the name of the new appointee has been submitted to the Privatization Board by President Abdulla Yameen, but did not reveal the name of the new appointee.

The Chairman of Dhiraagu is appointed from the Board of Directors, who are appointed by the government. Rilwan Shareef filled the position as a representative of Jumhooree Party.
