Indian aircraft assists MNDF's search operation following landing craft capsize

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has said that an aircraft of the Indian Navy is being employed in the search for the three people who remain missing after a landing craft was discovered capsized near Baa atoll.

The landing craft was reported missing four days ago.

Search efforts are ongoing by sea and by air by MNDF, and MNDF said that the Indian Navy aircraft will provide assistance to their ongoing operation.

“Coral Craft” was found about 30 miles off the western side of Baa Goidhoo. It went missing while travelling from Kaafu Thilafushi to Raa Dhiggili.

Three Maldivians and two foreigners were onboard at the time of the incident. Two Maldivians, Abdulla Rasheed and Abdulla Moosa, have been found; and three people remain missing.
