Gender Ministry removes two children from home following suspected abuse

Ministry of Law and Gender has removed two children from their homes in Vaavu Keyodhoo after their mother was accused of child abuse.

Deputy Minister of Law and Gender Shidhatha Ali told Sun Online that the two children have been taken to a safe location, and the case is under investigation.

Sources have told Sun Online that the children were taken to Vaavu Felidhoo.

Police said that a case was reported on Wednesday, regarding an eight-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl being abused by their mother.

The two children have been handed over to Gender Ministry following investigations, but no one has been arrested yet, said police.
