Commonwealth Head of Political Division calls on Foreign Minister

Head of the Political Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat, Amitav Banerji, has called on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dunya Maumoon.

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, 4 February 2015, the two officials discussed ways in which the Commonwealth can be reformed to be more beneficial to the needs and challenges of small states such as the Maldives.

According to Foreign Ministry, Banerji congratulated Maldives for assuming the Chair of AOSIS, and assured the Foreign Minister that Commonwealth will continue to work with the Maldives in strengthening technical cooperation and reforming the organization. He also expressed his appreciation for the Maldives’ contribution towards further strengthening the organization.
