President Yameen sends message of sympathy to President of Bangladesh following fire outbreak

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to Bangladesh President MD Abdul Hamid, following the fire outbreak at a plastic factory in Dhaka that caused 13 deaths and injuries to several people.

The message sent by the President Yameen read, “At this time of distress, the Government and the people of the Maldives join me in extending our profound sympathy to you, the Government and neighborly people of Bangladesh.”

President has requested to convey this condolences to the members of the bereaved families.

According to news media of Bangladesh, the plastic factory has been burnt completely due the fire outbreak occurred on Saturday evening and there were 70 staff at the factory that time.

Safety measures of factories have become an issue in Bangladesh since 2013, following death of 1,100 people by collapse of a factory.
