President Yameen congratulates new Prime Minister of Greece

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Greece, Alexis Tsipras, following his victory in the recent elections.

President Yameen said in his message, “On behalf of the people and Government of Maldives, it gives me great pleasure to extend to you sincere congratulations and best wishes on your victory in Greece’s recent elections.

“I wish you fortitude in discharging the important duties of your position. I am confident that, under your leadership, Greece will achieve new heights of progress and prosperity.”

President Yameen also expressed hope that the friendly relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the coming years.
