Ministry of Education has said that based on the preliminary results, the number of students who passed five subjects in the Cambridge O’Level and SSC Examinations saw an increase of 3.9 percent in 2014, when compared with 2013.
The ministry said that 46.9 percent of students passed five subjects in the Cambridge O’Level Exam in 2014, compared with 43 percent in 2013.
A total of 7,202 students from 194 centres sat the exam, consisting of 5,643 students from schools across the country and 1,559 private candidates.
11 percent of students got U grade in the exam, which is a reduction of 0.8 percent compared with 2013.
The number of students included in the Top Ten is 479 in 2014, while it was 478 in 2013.
The ministry said that minor changes are possible when the results are rechecked.
