Ten-foot crocodile found in Isdhoo

A crocodile measuring 10 feet in length has been found in the sea off Laamu Isdhoo.

Vice President of Isdhoo Council Mohamed Luthfee told Sun Online that the crocodile was first spotted by an inter-atoll ferry this morning, and later captured in the lagoon and taken to the island by a group of people from Isdhoo.

He said that rumours of a crocodile near the island started going around about two weeks ago, and the water around the island was searched by the police yesterday.

Efforts are ongoing to hand over the crocodile, which is presently at the Isdhoo harbour, to the police, said Luthfee.

Luthfee further said that the incident has left the people of Isdhoo in a state of fear, but swimming in the sea around the island has not been prohibited.
