Minister Adeeb: Today is a sad day for me personally

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adeeb has said that changing direction of the former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim is a lot of pain.

A tweet posted by Minister Adeeb stated that it is a lot of pain when colleagues and comrades who worked together changed their direction.

While Adeeb has expressed disappointment towards Nazim having changed his direction, the opposition party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has accused Adeeb to have involved in dismissal of Nazim from his post as Defense Minister.

In a press conference at Tuesday afternoon following his dismissal as Defense Minister and appointment of former Chief of Defense Force Moosa Ali Jaleel as the new Minister of Defense, Nazim said that if the police could break into the home of the Defense Minister in the dead of the night, safety and security were no longer guaranteed for any Maldivian citizen.

Police have raided the residence of Nazim, G. Enif during early hours on Sunday under warrant issued by court.
